Five hikers lost in the forest saved by firefighters

The firefighters intervened on Saturday near Avène (Hérault), in the upper cantons, to rescue four hikers lost in the forest.

According to the Department’s Fire and Rescue Service, the four walkers, who were quickly located, were “tired” and “dehydrated”. They were picked up and taken care of, safe and sound, by the gendarmerie helicopter.

The same day, a 56-year-old woman was also taken care of by the emergency services, when she was totally lost in the forest, near Bandeau-Bouldoux (Hérault). According to firefighters, she had been walking for three hours, and she only had a little water left, and 5% battery on her mobile phone.
