The situation is improving, but caution remains in order. In his 10 a.m. bulletinMonday March 11, Météo-France maintained five departments on orange alert for the risk of flooding or for a “wave-submersion” phenomenon. These are Charente-Maritime, Gironde, Puy-de-Dôme, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Yonne. Gironde is also on orange alert for “waves-submersion”. After Gard and Bouches-du-Rhône, the alert was lifted in Saône-et-Loire.

“Depression Monica is shifting towards the east of the country with a northwest wind remaining strong on the Atlantic coast and maintaining strong waves”, reports Météo-France. The orange level is third on a scale of four and calls on the public to be “very vigilant”because of “expected dangerous phenomena”. It is particularly recommended to avoid traveling or approaching watercourses.
