Five people, including four members of the same family, were killed on Saturday afternoon in the accident of a tourist plane in the Belledonne massif, AFP learned from firefighters.

The drama took place at a place called “Les Fournelles”, after the take-off of the aircraft, with on board “a family who was doing a first flight”, from the Versoud aerodrome about fifteen kilometers away. northeast of Grenoble, they said, confirming information from France-Bleu Isere.

The plane “crashed, for a reason currently unknown, and caught fire in the town of Adrets at 4:50 p.m.”, declared the prefecture of Isère in a press release. “An important SDIS 38 device, involving the Dragon 38 helicopter, supported by the PGHM and the Meylan gendarmerie company, was deployed very quickly on the spot, to extinguish the fire and come to the aid of the passengers”, adds the text. The Grenoble public prosecutor’s office entrusted the investigation to the gendarmerie group of Isère, to the BGTA and to the SRGTA of Paris.
