In Bavaria, too, there were first warning strikes in the metal and electrical industry at the weekend. According to the IG Metall union, more than 1,300 employees took part in the campaign on Saturday night. Further warning strikes are planned for Monday.
Accordingly, the entire night shift at Bosch in Bamberg with 1000 employees in all parts of the plant ended their work four hours earlier. According to IG Metall, employees at the electronics manufacturer RF 360 in Munich, at the car suppliers Mahle-Behr in Neustadt an der Donau and ZF in Auerbach in the Upper Palatinate, at Siemens Healthineers in Kemnath and at the Linde forklift truck plant in Weilbach, Lower Franconia, also took part on the warning strikes from midnight.
In the negotiations that have been conducted regionally so far, the employers have each offered one-off payments of 3,000 euros and also an unspecified increase in the wage tables for a period of 30 months. The one-off payment should reach the employees directly, free of taxes and duties. The union, on the other hand, is demanding eight percent more money for the approximately 3.9 million employees for a period of twelve months. The district head of IG Metall Bavaria, Johann Horn, said that the warning strikes should increase the pressure on employers to get a better offer in the next round of negotiations. Collective bargaining in Bavaria is scheduled to continue on November 8th.
