Charles III and wife Camilla visited Cornwall on Thursday. The two showed up in the region for the first time since the coronation.

King Charles III (74) and Queen Camilla (75) paid a visit to Cornwall. As the BBC reports, it was the royal couple’s first appearance in the duchy since the coronation in early May. In St. Ives, many people behind the barriers did not fail to catch a glimpse of the couple or even shake hands with them.

“It was lovely to meet so many of the Port of St Ives community – including some of the notable Coronation Champions who were recognized earlier this year for their outstanding volunteer contribution,” the visit said in an Instagram post by the “Royal Family”. Several pictures show the king and queen in a good mood shaking hands.

Visit to several organizations

A girl also presented Camilla with a bouquet of flowers, which the queen happily accepted. The 75-year-old wore a midi shirt dress by Fiona Clare with a green leaf print. Charles appeared in a light gray suit with a dark red tie.

Another Instagram post reveals which stations King Charles III. and Queen Camilla graduated. In St Ives they visited the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden where they met representatives of the local artistic community. The Queen also met some volunteers at the Oasis Centre, an organization for people with mental health problems, and also made a visit to show her support for the Women’s Center Cornwall, which provides specialist advice for women and girls. According to the BBC, the royals also met members of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution and choristers from Truro Cathedral, some of whom had sung at the coronation, in St Ives harbour.

The title Duke of Cornwall is traditionally borne by the eldest son of the reigning British monarch. In his first address as king, Charles III. made his son Prince William (41) proud to be the Prince of Wales. Princess Kate (41) in turn became the Duchess of Cornwall and Princess of Wales.
