Heavy gusts, heavy showers and thunderstorms – according to the DWD, the first full-blown autumn storm of the year is approaching Germany. Hurricane gusts of up to 120 kilometers per hour are possible on exposed peaks.
According to a forecast by the German Weather Service (DWD), it will be uncomfortable in Germany: From the second half of the night from Wednesday to Thursday, the storm field of a low will spread to Germany from the west, the DWD said. Traffic obstructions due to fallen trees must be expected, said meteorologist Tobias Reinartz.
The forecast is for storm gusts and heavy gusts of wind that can reach speeds of between 70 and 90 kilometers per hour or more – in high mountain ranges there can even be heavy gusts of gale to gale force gusts of up to 110 km / h. On exposed peaks such as the Brocken, the Feldberg in the Black Forest or the Fichtelberg, hurricane gusts of up to 120 kilometers per hour are possible. Even on the coasts, some hurricane-like gusts cannot be ruled out, said DWD meteorologist Julia Schmidt. It is the first full-blown autumn storm of the year in Germany.
According to the DWD, it blows a little weaker in the southeast at 55 to 75 km / h. There can also be showers and thunderstorms.
Wind subsides on Thursday
In the course of Thursday afternoon, according to the DWD, the wind decreases from the west again. Only in the north will it be stormy until Friday. In addition, it rains on Friday in the northern half and on the edge of the Alps – otherwise the sun often comes out.
But it’s getting cooler. On Thursday the temperatures are between 13 and 18 degrees, on Friday mostly only between 8 and 13 degrees. Saturday looks similar. A mix of sun, clouds and fog can be expected, explained the DWD.
Sunday brings sun and 12 to 17 degrees. From Tuesday at the latest, the weather will be more unstable again.
