Firefighters save a crane operator, victim of a malaise at 28 meters high

A rescue at 28 meters high. This Tuesday morning in Villenave-d’Ornon, a town in the Bordeaux metropolitan area, a 46-year-old man suffered from discomfort while operating in the cabin of his crane. The Grimp firefighters (research and intervention group in dangerous environments) started their rescue intervention around 9:15 a.m. Two hours later, they had managed to extract the victim from the passenger compartment of his construction machine.

For the time being, the causes of the crane operator’s discomfort are still unknown, but the man was transported to the emergency services of Saint-André hospital in Bordeaux in “serious” condition.
