Firefighters rescue dog stuck in drain for three hours

It is a rescue mission for the less singular that the firefighters carried out Thursday evening at the level of the avenue François-Château in Rennes. At the end of the afternoon, they were called by the owner of a dog, all panicked. His 12-year-old dachshund had just rushed into a pipe on the banks of the Vilaine and was unable to get out.

Eleven firefighters, including an animal and rescue-clearance team, were then mobilized to try to rescue the dog, stuck in this tunnel about ten meters long at three meters deep.

The dog located then baited

The operation turned out to be quite complex. After several attempts, the animal was finally located thanks to sound detection devices. The firefighters then baited him and the dog managed to regain the surface a little before 9 p.m.

Apparently in good health, the poor beast will still have remained stuck for nearly three hours in the pipe.
