The proposal, which will be voted on by the city council tomorrow, seems as absurd as a Karl Valentin joke. There are other ideas. Where they failed.
When it comes to appreciating the Valentin-Karlstadt-Musäum, the cultural department takes full action. The facility is “a landmark and symbol of Munich creativity,” writes boss Anton Biebl. For locals and visitors, the museum is considered “a center for the humor and mystery of this city.” But the draft resolution for the city council, in which Biebl describes the house so highly, shows one thing above all: the museum, which is spelled exactly like that, is currently in a kind of Valentine’s-like stranglehold from various authorities. How and even whether things will continue in the long term is currently highly uncertain.
