Two days after the fire on a farm in the Eggertshofen district of Freising, further details are known. According to the police, a total of ten cows died, they either fell victim to the flames or had to be euthanized after an examination by the veterinarian. At first there was talk of a dead animal. A large part of the approximately 80 cows that were in the barn could be brought to safety. The flames had caught a stable and an outbuilding late Thursday morning, the nearby biogas plant was not affected, but had to be shut down temporarily.

During the extinguishing work, several rescue workers had to receive medical care on site, and one person was treated in the hospital. They complained of circulatory problems or suffered from smoke inhalation. The resulting property damage is estimated by the police at at least 500,000 euros. There are still no new findings on the cause of the fire, the investigations by the Ingolstadt Criminal Police Inspectorate are ongoing.

The rescue workers quickly managed to extinguish the fire on Thursday. 184 firefighters from 17 fire departments were deployed. The high column of smoke was also clearly visible in the city of Freising.
