Fire in Aveyron: more than 320 ha have already burned, residents evacuated, gigantic smoke visible from the A75

A fire is underway this Monday evening in Mostuéjouls in Aveyron, a village on the border of Lozère. 320 ha have already burned. Residents of hamlets were evacuated.

A fire has been underway near Mostuéjouls in the Gorges du Tarn since the end of the afternoon on Monday. After heading towards Massegros in Lozère, the fire resumed the direction of Aveyron.

More than 320 ha have already burned and residents of hamlets have been evacuated.

120 firefighters on site

120 firefighters from Aveyron and Lozère are on site with the support of civil security air resources. Five canadairs, two Dash are mobilized. But with nightfall, the drops are interrupted.

It is advisable to avoid D32 and D9.

The fire is visible from the A75 and from Millau.

So far, no casualties have been reported.

At 9:30 p.m., the fire was still not fixed. Reinforcements from Bouches-du-Rhône are expected in the evening.

The cause of the fire was accidental. An investigation has been opened.
