Strong winds have fueled the forest fire near Jüterbog that broke out a week ago. A hot day is ahead.

The forest fire near Jüterbog has spread again. 656 hectares are currently affected, said the head of the regulatory office, Christiane Lindner-Klopsch. Most recently, the area was given as a total of 326 hectares.

“It’s quiet at the moment,” Lindner-Klopsch continued. You have to wait and see how the warm day affects the forest fire.

Strong wind fanned the forest fire near Jüterbog that broke out a week ago, according to the operations management on Wednesday. The firefighting was resumed from the air in the afternoon with a federal police helicopter and a fire-fighting aircraft. The operations management increased the number of firefighters.

The emergency services were on site by 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. Two fire trucks stayed there that night. According to Lindner-Klopsch, the owners drove the area regularly.

The fire in the ammunition-loaded area broke out on Wednesday evening last week. The fire brigade cannot get to the source of the fire directly because of the risk of explosion on the former military training area. Towns are not in danger.
