Fire at a residential building in Pliening: the police assume arson – Ebersberg

The criminal police in Plieningen’s Ottersberg district are investigating serious arson. An apartment building caught fire there on Friday evening. The investigation quickly revealed clear indications that the fire had been set intentionally.

At around 10:15 p.m., the rescue workers were informed about the fire that was breaking out on the facade of a residential building on Melchior-Huber-Strasse. When the police arrived, the fire had already been extinguished by a neighbor and intervention by the fire brigade was no longer necessary.

There was only property damage of around 1000 euros, nobody was injured. At the scene, there were first indications that the fire could have been started by an unknown person. The Erding criminal police then took over the investigation that night. After an inspection of the scene of the fire by the criminal police experts, the initial suspicion was substantiated in particular by the evidence that fire accelerants were used.

The police are now hoping for information from witnesses. They should report any conspicuous observations related to the crime to the criminal police on (08122)9680.
