In the scene, the name Nanami “Seven Seas” Nagura should no longer be unknown. For the third time, the Japanese has prevailed against the competition in her discipline.

The Japanese Nanami “Seven Seas” Nagura is an air guitar champion – she has won an international competition in Finland for the third time. The organizers announced on Friday evening that she was the most successful participant of all time.

In a video you can see how Nagura first moves robotically on the stage, then rips a cloak off his body and gets started in a glittering silver skirt. In the competition, people pretend to play the guitar, but without an instrument.

The World Cup has been held since 1996. This time 18 opponents competed in the Finnish city of Oulu. Second place went to Aapo “the Angus” Rautio from Finland. Third place went to last year’s winner “Guitarantula” for France.

The “Air Guitar World Championships” are part of a festival in the city. Air guitar playing is open to everyone, the organizers explained on the website. You can start with it regardless of gender, age, origin, sexual orientation or social status. The organizers also want to set a sign for peace with the competition – one of the keywords is #MakeAirNotWar, which means something like “make air, not war”.
