Fine particle peak alert this Tuesday

The return of good weather in the capital also signals the exceeding of fine particle alert thresholds. This Tuesday, Airparif warns of an episode of pollution in Paris and its crown, due to the poor dispersion of particles emitted by road traffic and residential heating, due to low temperatures and very weak winds.

Already on Saturday, the Paris police headquarters had renewed the measures to reduce the authorized speed by 20 km/h and to ban the use of individual wood heating in Ile-de-France, due to an episode of fine particle pollution, which began on Thursday. For this Tuesday, the recommendations are the same : defer road travel in Île-de-France, use less polluting vehicles or favor carpooling, public transport or soft modes of transport (cycling, walking, etc.)

The peak is therefore expected on Tuesday before a gradual return to normal between Wednesday and Thursday. The Paris police headquarters also advises heavy goods vehicles over 3.5 tonnes are obliged to bypass the area by the Ile-de-France ring road, and individuals to avoid the use of wood heating and reduce their speed on the roads. of the region.
