Finally a large cafeteria for the many students on the island of Nantes

Good news for students on the Île de Nantes, more and more of whom are following their education in the heart of the “creation district”. Since Tuesday, a new large Crous cafeteria has opened its doors on Boulevard de la Prairie-au-Duc, just opposite the Mediacampus. With a capacity of 120 seats, it can serve between 600 and 750 meals a day, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Prepared meals, pizzas, sandwiches, pastries as well as hot and cold drinks are sold there, “on the spot or to take away”. Students can have lunch there at price of a U ticket (3.30 euros for the menu, or even 1 euro for scholarship holders).

“There was a big lack in the neighborhood”

If it was not yet the crowd at the end of the morning, the white and red seats of the “Cafet’Inspirations” should attract many students from the school of architecture, school of fine arts, school of graphic arts, school of cinema, SciencesCom, university center of digital cultures, and soon of the school of design, which must open its doors at the start of the next school year. Last but not least, the place is equipped with free Wi-Fi.

For several years, many of them have been asking for this new place of restoration, in particular via a petition. “There was a big lack in the neighborhood, believe Louise-Marie and Raphaël, future architects. Our cafet’ is only open for lunch and is really too small, there is easily a 30-minute queue… As for the restaurants in the area, it’s nice but it’s not at all the same budget! »
