Director Laurent Cantet, Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2008 for his film Between the walls, died this Thursday, April 25 at the age of 63, announces the newspaper Libération. The cause of this sudden death is not specified.
“He died this morning in Paris of illness,” said Isabelle de la Patellière, his artistic agent. His latest feature film, Arthur Rambo (2021), was inspired by the Mehdi Meklat affair, this writer and blogger caught up in old controversial tweets. The director was also working on a film project titled The apprentice and which was due to be released in 2025.
