The Walchensee has already provided the perfect backdrop in numerous films – it is particularly popular as a double for Nordic fjords.

Some film recordings have already been made on the deep, turquoise-blue Lake Walchensee, including action-packed feature films with Hollywood legends Kirk Douglas and Tony Curtis. Michael “Bully” Herbig had an entire Nordmann village built on the shore – which still attracts the curious today and became a good starting point for fun with the hidden camera.

It consists of mountains, mountains all around, majestic and blue. One could think that the Walchensee is a lonely place somewhere far away in the north.
