Film producer Oliver Berben is moving to the top of the production company Constantin Film and will be the new CEO next year. He replaces Martin Moszkowicz, who is letting his contract expire.

There is a change at the top of one of the largest German film production companies. The previous deputy boss Oliver Berben will take over as CEO from Martin Moszkowicz on March 1, 2024, as the company announced today. Moszkowicz will then let his contract expire as planned and at his own request and then work as a producer for Constantin Film.

Oliver Berben, son of actress Iris Berben, has been deputy chairman of the board at Constantin Film since January 2021. There he previously headed the TV, entertainment and digital media departments.

“Time for younger people”

“We’ve been planning it for a long time – now the time has come for younger people,” the dpa news agency quoted Moszkowicz as saying. The media manager has been Constantin’s boss since 2014 and has been part of the company’s management team since 1990. He was involved in the production of more than 300 films, including “Fack ju Göhte”, “Perfume” and “He’s back”.

According to Constantin, his most recent projects include the films “Monster Hunter”, “Contra”, “Welcome to Raccoon City” and “The Last Name”.

Examining conditions on set

Constantin Film is considered one of the most important production companies in Germany. The company recently came under criticism after allegations arose about alleged harassment and a “climate of fear” during the filming of the Til Schweiger film “Manta Manta – Second Part”.

Constantin had the allegations and the working conditions on the film set dealt with by an independent law firm and then announced that he wanted to sharpen his own production standards.
