The 74th Berlinale starts on Thursday. Film fans have been able to get tickets for the first screenings of the film festival since Monday morning.

Almost 78,000 tickets on the first day: Film enthusiasts have been able to get tickets for this year’s since Monday Get hold of the Berlinale. “The number of tickets sold on the first day was almost identical to 2023,” said a spokeswoman for the Berlinale. Accordingly, 77,757 tickets were sold on Monday, slightly more than last year (2023: 77,599).

Tickets for regular performances this year cost 15 euros. In the Berlinale Palast at Potsdamer Platz and at special gala premieres in the Verti Music Hall they are 18 euros. There are discounts for schoolchildren, students, citizens’ benefit recipients and even unemployed people. Tickets are always available three days in advance.

Alongside Cannes and Venice, the Berlinale is one of the largest film festivals in the world. On Thursday the film festival opens with the world premiere of the Irish-Belgian drama “Small Things Like These”.
