Steven Spielberg’s drama The Fabelmans has been nominated for a US Producer Award. This increases the chances of a golden boy. But the competition is big.

Steven Spielberg’s drama “The Fabelmans” and tragic comedy “The Banshees of Inisherin” have further improved their chances at this year’s Oscars. Yesterday, the US producers’ association nominated a total of ten feature films for the top award from the Producers Guild of America (PGA). It is considered a barometer for the Oscars, which will be awarded in mid-March this year.

Also in the running: “Avatar: The Way of Water”, “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, “Elvis”, “Everything Everywhere All At Once”, “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery”, “Tár”, “Top Gun : Maverick” and “The Whale”. More than 8,000 film producers vote on the prizes. The Hollywood Producers’ Trophies will be presented for the 34th time on February 25th.

The PGA winner often later wins the Oscar for best film, such as the road movie “Nomadland” (2021) and last year’s tragic comedy “Coda”.
