“Barbenheimer” was the blockbuster theme of the summer. “Oppenheimer” and “Barbie” also lead Google’s 2023 annual review.

In fourth place is ZDF again with “Der Schwarm”, while the Netflix production “Ginny & Georgia” is in fifth place. “The Last of Us”, the HBO series based on the 2013 video game hit of the same name, secured sixth place. The remaining places go to Netflix again with “The Witcher” (seven), “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” (eight), “Outer Banks” (nine) and “Liebes Kind” (ten).

The Google annual review determines the search trends of the year and shows a particularly strong increase in search interest during a certain period in different categories compared to the previous year.
