Spain’s former head of the association Rubiales received another penalty because of the kissing scandal and a grab in the crotch. The sports judges follow the FIFA sanctions with their verdict.

The former president of the Spanish Football Association, Luis Rubiales has been banned for three years by the country’s sports tribunal for his abusive behavior at the women’s World Cup medal ceremony and improper conduct. The court confirmed corresponding media reports upon request. A one and a half year ban was imposed because of the kiss that Rubiales forced on world champion Jennifer Hermoso.

There was another year and a half because he grabbed his crotch during the World Cup final, reported the portal Iusport, which specializes in sports law. FIFA had already imposed the same penalty for the kiss a good two weeks ago.

The 46-year-old Rubiales kissed Hermoso on the mouth in Sydney on August 20th after the Spanish footballers’ World Cup triumph. The player then emphasized that this had happened against her will. Rubiales says she agreed. Rubiales was expected to appeal the TAD’s ruling.

Rubiales’ behavior caused months of discussions, during which Rubiales lost his position as president of the RFEF football association. The team’s sporting triumph faded into the background.
