With “Jein” they wrote German rap history |
Fatty bread is the end
Songs like “Jein”, “Emanuela” and “Nordisch by Nature” go to her credit. Real German rap evergreens. But that is over now.
They belong to the German chart landscape like herring to the rap king Boris (48), Doctor Renz (48) and Björn Beton (49, nickname Schiffmeister) aka Fettes Brot.
On Wednesday, however, the trio surprisingly announced their separation. All over after almost 30 years of band history.
The musicians write on Instagram: “Before we can soon inaugurate our own wax figures at Madame T, we eternal teenagers with ‘almost 50’ prefer to dig our own grave. You read that right: Group Fettes Brot is not only ancient … but HISTORY! Daddy and daddy and daddy break up.”
However, this does not take effect immediately: “At the end of 23 we will pack our gym bags and start hiking on new paths.”
Because even if the common band history is “somehow told”, you don’t want to quietly step down: “It’s a matter of honor that our epoch has to end with a bang finale.”
Means: Finally, Fettes Brot will go on a big tour again. The last round starts on April 8th in Bremen and ends on May 6th in Kiel. Intermediate stations include Cologne, Berlin and Münster. Advance sales start on April 12th.
