Festive concerts in the New Castle Schleissheim – district of Munich

The New Schleißheim Palace with its courtyard garden is not only a tourist attraction, but also a coveted location as a film backdrop and concert venue. Classical sounds can be heard regularly in a beautiful baroque ambience throughout the summer. Two concerts are now on the program at the beginning of September: the soloists in residence, together with the flutist Janine Schöllhorn and the harpist Emilie Jaulmes, will be performing many well-known works there on Saturday, September 3rd: in addition to the overture to Verdi’s opera “The Power of Destiny”. Vivaldi’s flute concerto “La Notte” and his harp concerto are on the programme, along with Smetana’s “Die Vltava”, Mozart’s “Concerto for Flute and Harp” and Johann Strauss’ waltz “On the beautiful blue Danube”.

A week later, on September 10th, there will be another celebratory concert by the soloists in residence, in which Mozart’s “Haffner” symphony, Haydn’s “La Chasse” symphony, the suite “From the New World” by Dvořák and Brahms’ “Hungarian Dances ” sound.
