A summer evening in Salzburg, not too hot, not a storm cloud in the sky. Verena Altenberger is sitting on a terrace, all in black, with the towers of the cathedral behind her. The Austrian actress has just returned from her homeland, the Gastein Valley, from her grandmother’s funeral. Yet the show must go on. First the interview, then an appearance on the big stage as a love interest in the “Jedermann” performance. Time is short, the 34-year-old (“Polizeiruf 110”) puts her cell phone on the table, let’s go.
