Feldkirchen – 80-year-old drives a car in a waiting room – district of Munich

An 80-year-old driver accidentally stepped on the gas pedal while parking in Feldkirchen on Wednesday and caused a spectacular accident in which, fortunately, no passers-by were injured. The woman from Munich wanted to reverse into a parking space around 12:25 p.m. in the area of ​​Wolfgangsplatz when, according to the police report, after initial investigations, she slipped off the brake and unintentionally accelerated. The car shot backwards through the vegetation there, over the green strip and the sidewalk onto the roadway on Aschheimer Straße. There, the rear of the car collided with a truck that was driving in the direction of Aschheim at that moment. The force of the collision turned the pensioner’s car 90 degrees to the right and threw it back onto the sidewalk, where it crashed into the bus shelter there and finally came to a stop. As the police point out, at the time of the accident there were no pedestrians either at the bus shelter or on the sidewalk. The 80-year-old was slightly injured in the accident and was taken to a clinic for treatment. The truck driver was not injured. Traffic was blocked on Aschheimer Straße while the accident was being recorded. The police estimate the total damage to the vehicles and the bus shelter to be 25,000 euros.
