Now he has given this office to other hands. On Wednesday the general assembly of the registered association elected Helge-Uve Braun as his successor and named him honorary president. He did not run for reasons of age, said the 79-year-old, who now sees geothermal energy on the upswing after difficult beginnings. The importance of this alternative form of energy in politics has grown significantly, “Geothermal energy is now literally in the coalition agreement,” says the former mayor of Unterhachings.
