Asylum seekers who live alone in collective accommodation receive less money. This is justified with possible savings. Now Karlsruhe has intervened.

Single asylum seekers can no longer have their social benefits cut by a flat rate of ten percent because they live in a refugee home.

According to the Federal Constitutional Court, it is not apparent that savings are actually being achieved there through joint management. The “special needs level” introduced in 2019 is incompatible with the Basic Law.

This is breaking news – more coming soon!
