Do German directors earn too little at Netflix? The Federal Association of Directing has been trying for three years to agree on fair remuneration rules with the streaming portal – now the association is initiating arbitration proceedings. The sticking point is once again that Netflix reveals so little about its user numbers. The director Jobst Oetzmann, who has staged many “Tatort” episodes and the mini-ARD series “Crime” based on Ferdinand von Schirach and sits on the association’s advisory board, explains the background.
