The youngest daughter of Oscar winner Steven Spielberg announces the film adaptation of a crime comedy. This is a dream come true for the 26-year-old, as she writes on Instagram.

Destry Allyn Spielberg, the youngest daughter of star director Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw, makes her feature film directorial debut. The 26-year-old will adapt the crime comedy “Four Assassins (And a Funeral)” from the screenplay by Ryan Hooper. This would make a dream come true, wrote the Oscar winner’s daughter on Instagram. She linked a report from the film portal “Deadline.com” about the new project.

The planned film is compared to the crime comedy “Knives Out” and the “Kingsman” comic films. In a statement, the up-and-coming director spoke of a story about family, betrayal and murder. The cast is now being sought for the start of shooting in 2023, it said.

Spielberg has previously appeared as an actress in small film and TV roles and made his first directing experiences with short films. Last June, she presented her thriller short Let Me Go the Right Way at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Destry is the youngest of seven children born to Spielberg and Capshaw, who have been married since 1991. Together they have three biological and two adopted children, both of whom brought one child into the marriage from previous marriages.
