FC Bayern are visiting Arsenal in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League. A decision seems to have been made shortly before kick-off. The game in the live ticker.

  • Arsenal FC – FC Bayern Munich 1:2 (Tues., 9 p.m. on Amazon Prime Video)
  • Spectacular double strike from Bayern: Gnabry and Kane hits turn the game around
  • Early shock for FCB: Gunners take an early lead through Saka
  • The Live ticker the game of FC Bayern at Arsenal FC is continually updated

45.+1 minute: Half-time whistle in London. Bayern surprisingly, but not entirely undeservedly, lead 2-1 at Arsenal.

Arsenal FC – FC Bayern 1:2

Arsenal FC: Raya – White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior – Jorginho – Odegaard, Rice – Saka, Havertz, Martinelli
FC Bayern: Neuer – Kimmich, Dier, de Ligt, Davies – Laimer, Goretzka. Sané, Musiala, Gnarby – Kane
Goals: 1:0 Saka (13th), 1:1 Gnabry (18th), 1:2 Kane (32nd, penalty kick)

43rd minute: An intense game here at the Emirates. But Bayern act cleverly, let themselves go a little and let Arsenal have the ball and then switch quickly. This has worked brilliantly twice so far. But it is also a fact: the Munich team cannot withstand such pressure for 90 minutes.

35th minute: Bayern didn’t take place in the first 15 minutes because Arsenal did a good job of restricting the visitors. But the equalizer turned the game around. Afterwards, the Munich team were more confident – and a highly intense game developed. Both teams operate at a very, very high level here.

32nd minute: GOOOOOOOOOOOOOR! Harry Kane stays cold as a dog’s nose and casually hits the right corner. Raya was heading to the other corner.

29th minute: Penalty for Bayern! Leroy Sané starts a crazy sprint and leaves the entire Arsenal back line standing. Then he is felled by Saliba.

18th minute: GOOOOOOOOOOR! The compensation! Actually out of nowhere because Arsenal had Bayern under control here. But the first little wobble is punished immediately. Gabriel plays a bad pass, Sané then plays an outstanding clearance to Goretzka, who passes through to the starting Gnabry and as he falls, he scores to make it 1-1. Very important!

16th minute: Almost 2-0! Gnabry can only clear a long ball to White inadequately. Havertz grabs the second ball and sends White, but he fails free to Neuer. Dusel for the people of Munich!

13th minute: Goal! Arsenal FC strikes! Bukayo Saka is played by White in the penalty area, where he turns up outstandingly and flicks the ball beautifully into the far corner.

Arsenal FC shocks Bayern: Saka puts Gunners in the lead

9th minute: Yellow for Davies. Bitter to be warned so early in this game. And doubly bitter because the Canadian will miss the second leg next week.

7th minute: First goal – but for Arsenal! Davies sleeps a bit and doesn’t respond to Dier’s somewhat short pass and then things move quickly. Martinelli finally looks for the shot from 17 meters, but goes past Neuer’s box on the right.

3rd minute: Lively start in London. Arsenal presses high, but Bayern are not shocked. If the ball is lost, the Munich team retreats.

1st minute: Kicking off! The ball is rolling at the Emirates. The quarter-final first leg in the Champions League between Arsenal and FC Bayern is underway.

FC Bayern against Arsenal now in the live ticker: The ball is rolling at the Emirates

+++ Update 8:47 p.m.: In addition to Sané’s return, Tuchel can also be happy about Neuer’s comeback. “Manuel is always important, he is our captain,” said the Bayern coach before kick-off: “It makes a huge difference.”

He also reveals what Bayern need today to beat the Gunners: “We need intensity, dedication and passion. The absolute basics that we’ve been missing recently,” said the 50-year-old, who also boldly announced: “I’m always here for a win. For nothing else!”

+++ Update 8:41 p.m.: It will also be a very special game for Harry Kane. The attacker played for Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal’s arch-enemy, for years. In this respect, he will have little desire to be thrown out here in the quarter-finals of the Champions League against the Gunners.

+++ Update 8:22 p.m.: Max Eberl is just speaking Amazon Prime Video: “We spoke out on Sunday,” announced the sports director: “We put a few things on the table. I now feel a special energy in the last two days. We’ll see different Bayern today than in the league.” Well then, you can be excited…

+++ Update 8:07 p.m.: Manuel Neuer is also returning to the FC Bayern goal. The captain tore a muscle fiber while playing for the national team at the end of March. Now the keeper is celebrating his comeback.

Another spicy personality: Serge Gnabry once wore the Arsenal FC jersey. The attacker wore the Gunners jersey from 2011 to 2016. Gnabry only played 18 games for the Londoners. The 234 games that the 28-year-old has played for FC Bayern so far are significantly more.

+++ Update 7:51 p.m.: There are the lineups! As expected, Thomas Müller is on the bench and Eric Dier and Matthijs de Ligt form the central defender duo.

FC Bayern against Arsenal in the live ticker: Line-up is there – Sané decision has been made

+++ Update 7:39 p.m.: Compared to the Heidenheim game, Leroy Sané will return again. Maybe even in the starting line-up. Apparently Tuchel’s first decision regarding positioning has already been made and Thomas Müller should initially sit on the bench.

Speaking of Sané! What does its future actually look like? “The people in charge are in contact with Bavaria, so things will certainly be more intensive in the next few weeks. I’m concentrating on my performance, we have an important game tomorrow,” said the 28-year-old in London on Monday.

+++ Update April 9th, 6:55 p.m.: Of course, the hosts from London are currently focusing on one player: Kai Havertz. The DFB star has contributed to a goal in every game in the last seven games.

The 24-year-old also has a special bond with Thomas Tuchel: “Kai perhaps scored the best goal of my coaching career,” said the Bayern coach on Monday: “He’s a great guy, he has a great character, he’s a great team player . I’m happy for him that he’s getting the appreciation he deserves. He is blossoming. We have to take care of him.”

+++ Update, April 9th, 6:29 p.m.: In just under an hour and a half we will know how Thomas Tuchel sends his FC Bayern into the race. Above all, the look at the defense will be exciting.

Will he trust the Dier/de Ligt duo again or will he leave Upamecano and Kim in the starting line-up despite their dismal performances in Heimheim? In terms of speed, the Frenchman and the South Korean would be the more sensible option, but Dier and de Ligt seemed much more well-rehearsed and stable.

First report:

Munich/London – Everything is set in the quarter-final first leg of the Champions League.

Almost at least, because the German record champions have to compete at the Emirates without fans. The reason is the misconduct of some supporters at the Lazio game, which is why UEFA has now taken strict action. In addition, there was another IS threat before kick-off.

Quarter-final first leg in the Champions League: FCB with a big disadvantage at the Emirates

It is also unfortunate that FC Bayern is currently once again in a sporting crisis in a rollercoaster season. Two defeats in the league, first against BVB (0:2) and last weekend against newly promoted Heidenheim (2:3) – and the mood on Säbener Straße couldn’t feel any darker.

Arsenal FC, on the other hand, comes with a big chest, as the Gunners greet them from the top of the Premier League table. Kai Havertz in particular has been more than convincing in recent games. But Thomas Tuchel and his team shouldn’t just keep an eye on him.

Tuchel’s decision appears to have been made: Bayern coach decides on the line-up

It will be exciting to see how the Bayern coach will line up. A Tuchel decision seems to have been made, as Thomas Müller is said to be sitting on the bench. Leroy Sané should return to the starting line-up for him. It will also be interesting to see what Bayern’s defense will look like.
