FC Schalke 04: Ultra statement! UGE comments on the beating “spectacle”

For the first time since they were founded in 2002, the Ultras Gelsenkirchen left the block at halftime in the away game in Düsseldorf (3:5). “A 1. FC Köln supporter tried to steal a fan scarf from a Schalke player. “He fought back and pulled a bottle over the Cologne man’s head,” said the police spokesman, describing a scene from the tumult. The Cologne fan had to be taken to hospital injured. The federal police intervened and stopped the fight.

UGE speaks out in the “Blue Letter”.

A week later, during the home game against VfL Osnabrück (4-0), the S04’s active fan scene commented on the incidents in Düsseldorf. “Due to the earlier return journey, it happened that representatives of the Cologne ultra scene and their black and yellow friends who were coming from the home game against Mönchengladbach were also on this train. The attack was countered without any major injuries before the police at Düsseldorf main station put an end to the spectacle,” says the “Blue Letter”, the Schalke Ultras’ bulletin, which the fan scene presents at every home game.

For the S04 supporters, it was a used evening even apart from the bitter game. It was only in February of this year that there was a brutal attack on the S04 scene by the people of Cologne and Dortmund. At that time there was a mass brawl in front of the UGE clubhouse in Gelsenkirchen.
