FC Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont out eight weeks after rib fracture

Nantes goalkeeper Alban Lafont, victim of a shock during the first Ligue 1 match against Toulouse on Sunday, suffers from a fractured rib and a pulmonary contusion which caused a pneumothorax, and should be absent eight weeks, has we learned Monday from a source close to FC Nantes.

During the defeat against Toulouse (2-1), Lafont had violently hit the left upright of his cages while trying in vain to avoid the Toulouse equalizing goal, scored by Zakaria Aboukhlal in the 62nd minute of the match. Remained conscious, he was taken out on a stretcher before being transported to the Nantes University Hospital for examinations, which dismissed the fear of cervical trauma.
