Last night, the prefect of Loire-Atlantique published a stoppage before the match which will oppose FC Nantes to SC Bastia in the Coupe de France, this Thursday evening at La Beaujoire. Indeed, the Nantes supporters are rebelling against this decree of the prefecture. By its inconsistency, but also and above all, by the attack on the freedom of which the supporters feel victims. This stipulates that this Thursday, February 10, “it is forbidden for all persons claiming the quality of supporters” of the FCN and SC Bastia “to circulate or park within the perimeter of the city center of Nantes”. In summary, any resident of Nantes who walks around the city center of the City of the Dukes with a scarf or a jersey of the Canaries would be outlawed. Supporters who do not have the right to circulate in their own city… In his decree, the prefect indicates that he is taking his measures because of the “current tense context during football matches”, but also to prevent the end of the gauges at 5,000 spectators or the return of the ultras of the Loire Brigade.
A risk of 30,000 € fine
Immediately, many of them react on social networks. The national association of supporters even seized the judge in chambers of the administrative court of Nantes. Because anyone who does not respect this prefectural decree risks six months’ imprisonment, a fine of €30,000 and a five-year stadium ban. Marlène Collineau, deputy mayor of Nantes, protested against this measure: “When is being a supporter of FC Nantes when you are in the streets of Nantes considered sufficiently dangerous to become a reason for control? When does it stop? “.
