FC Bayern wins 12-0: only Waldberg got it harder – sport

Of course, they had the silver handle cup with them, which made the eagerly awaited “match of the century” possible against FC Bayern: winning the Bremer State Cup, which was on the sidelines on Wednesday evening, as well as a bit of luck had the amateur kickers of Bremer SV that Cup duel with the record champions from Munich. Or, as a footballer from the top division had put it before the game: a duel with the idols “from television”.

The Bremen footballers could then be seen live and in color on Wednesday, when an estimated half of all those interested in football in Germany hoped that Bayern would be embarrassed in the first round of the DFB Cup. But there was no entry in the history books, the Munich team won 12-0 in stable northern German rain – the second highest competitive game victory in the long history of the Munich team. Only the DJK Waldberg got it worse in 1997 at 16: 1 in the first round of the cup. So it was a relaxed evening for the Bavarian idols in the Bremen Weser Stadium, the home of SV Werder. The game was played there because the league team did not have the necessary infrastructure.

Leroy Sané scores once, prepares two goals – and yet is one of the more inconspicuous Munich players

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann had spared the regulars Manuel Neuer, Leon Goretzka and Robert Lewandowski as promised; As expected, Sven Ulreich, who was hardly tested, played for them in goal, Corentin Tolisso, who can always be played in midfield, and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting in the attack. But it did not stop. The defense was almost completely overhauled compared to the 3-2 win against Cologne on Sunday: Nagelsmann offered a chain of four instead of a three-man chain, in which Omar Richards and Bouna Sarr were given a chance on the outside positions.

Of course, the focus was particularly on Leroy Sané, who was whistled by his own supporters in the home win against Cologne, then received backing from Bayern officials – and who prepared the first goal for Munich in the eighth minute after his pass to the penalty spot Choupo-Moting arrived. Otherwise, Sané remained one of the more inconspicuous Munich players, although he prepared another goal and scored once himself with a full shot into the far corner. When the attacker was replaced shortly after his goal in the 68th minute, there was applause from most of the 10,000 spectators in the stadium. But there were also isolated whistles to be heard again.

The mood with regard to Sané remains ambivalent, but due to the blatant class difference, the evening was only able to provide little information about Bayern’s level of performance. Apart from maybe Choupo-Moting, who scored four goals and once again underlined that he can replace Lewandowski occasionally; as well as from the appearance of Jamal Musiala, who met twice and once again performed some nice dribbles. Sarr, Tolisso, substitutes Malik Tillman and Mikael Cuisance and an own goal by Bremen’s Jan-Luca Warm ensured the final score – but even that should have been bearable. It was warm with his idols on TV, live and in color.
