Brief irritation at a press conference by Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel: A loud scream came from next door. Thomas Müller was to blame.

As the new Bayern coach, Thomas Tuchel has a lot to tell. After taking office, he made himself popular with the fans, of course, primarily with the brilliant 4-2 victory in the top game against Borussia Dortmund, but also with his statements at press conferences, where the coach goes into detail about tactical questions and his game philosophy.

However, at the press conference before the DFB Cup game against SC Freiburg, a loud scream from next door interrupted the Bayern coach’s explanations in the press room. While Thomas Tuchel was still talking about the differences between the record champions and his previous clubs Paris St.-Germain and Chelsea FC, a loud “Jaaaaaaaa” came over. The voice clearly belonged to Thomas Müller.

FC Bayern: Stars play darts during the Tuchel press conference

“There’s the 180,” shouted the Bayern star. Tuchel was not put off by this, he only looked to the side with a brief smile and did not go into the incident any further. The explanation for Müller’s cheering: Some Bayern pros were playing darts in the next room, a popular activity with the players. And apparently, at the moment when the coach spoke, one of the Munich players had achieved the optimal number of points.

Later, Müller also revealed which of the Bayern players had been so accurate with the arrows: “Honor where credit is due: Josip Stanisic threw the 180,” he wrote on Instagram. Due to renovation work, the pros currently have their dining and recreation room right next to the press room in the club building on Säbener Straße. So it may be that press conferences can get a little louder more often – because the Bayern players are obviously not only burning with ambition on the football pitch.
