Will Josip Stanisic’s (23) future be decided very quickly now?
The talented defensive all-rounder was missing on Friday evening at the start of the Bundesliga FC Bayern in Bremen (4:0) in the squad of the German record champions – even though he wasn’t injured! A clear indication that the future of the Croatian international (eleven appearances) will initially lie far away from Munich.
BILD has now learned: Stanisic is about to be loaned to Bayer Leverkusen!

Because the competition in Bayern’s defense has increased this summer with strong central defender Minjae Kim (26/came from Naples for €50m) and left-back Raphael Guerreiro (29/came from Dortmund on a free transfer), Stanisic can in the near future don’t count on many playing times in Thomas Tuchel’s (49) team.
In Xabi Alonso’s (41) team, on the other hand, he could get more match practice and develop further with an ambitious Bundesliga club. In addition, the connection between the bosses and ex-Munich Alonso is still very good. They knew Stanisic was in the best of hands with the Spaniard.
And that’s important to the people of Munich! Because the home-grown product (came from Fürstenfeldbruck in 2017) is highly valued internally and should therefore not be sold permanently. How important Stanisic could become for Bayern in the future was shown, among other things, in the round of 16 second leg of the 2022/23 Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain (2-0), when he sensationally knocked out mega-star Kylian Mbappé (24) for the full season .
The deal should therefore not contain a purchase option. It was not for nothing that the record champions extended their number 44 to 2026 last November!

The loan would be a real coup for Leverkusen. As coach Alonso recently announced, the Werkself want to improve their already exciting squad across the board. With Stanisic, Bayer would grab a top talent who can reliably occupy all positions in the defensive chain.
So it’s quite possible that the deal will go through soon…
