Julian Nagelsmann spoke before Bayern’s home game against Union Berlin about Robert Lewandowski’s much-discussed contract situation.

Before FC Bayern’s Bundesliga home game against Union Berlin, Julian Nagelsmann spoke about the contractual situation of Robert Lewandowski, Manuel Neuer and Thomas Müller. The FCB coach also commented on BVB.

“It’s often portrayed as being so simple. But in games like this, you often do several rounds with the players, with the agents. It’s not like it used to be, where signings were made quickly. These are often longer processes,” Nagelsmann campaigned at the match day press conference for patience when extending the contracts of Lewandowski, Neuer and Müller, which expire in 2023.

Nagelsmann: “The fact is that I would like to extend Lewy”

When asked about Lewandowski, Nagelsmann also underlined his desire to continue with the Pole. “The fact is that I would like to extend Lewy, the club would like to extend Lewy. He knows that too.” However: “Ultimately, it’s not like Monopoly that you can just buy the Königsallee.”

Nagelsmann was also asked about the approaching BVB, which is only four points behind FCB. His answer: “I can feel BVB’s breathing more than a few weeks ago. There are no longer nine points, but only four. But one thing is clear: if we win all the games, we are champions.”
