FC Bayern: Next star gone! All set for departure to Italy | Sports

The summer adventure is at Bavaria finished!

BILD and SPORT BILD know: Bavaria’s Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer (34) is leaving the club and moving to the traditional Italian club Inter Milan as the new number one.

The clubs agree, as do Sommer and Inter among themselves. The transfer fee is 6.75 million euros. The deal goes through next week.

FC Bayern: All set for the summer change

It was recently reported that Inter wanted to use a contract clause to sign Sommer. However, this is NOT the case now.

The clause in question states that Sommer can change for 6 million euros if Manuel Neuer (37) will play three competitive games in August 2023. It won’t come to that. The Bayern captain is back in training after breaking his leg twice on skis in the winter. But not ready to play yet.

Without a clause, the Italians now have to pay 750,000 euros more for the summer. According to a report by the Gazzetta dello Sport, not everything is due at once, but Inter can split the payment.

Sommer had only come from Gladbach in the winter for 9 million and had long been considered a serious new challenger in the fight for number one at Bayern.

A few shaky performances in Bayern’s chaos second half caused the Bayern decision-makers to rethink. Now the next chapter of his career begins at Inter in Italy.

In the Nerazzurri, summer will play the Champions League next season and want to recommend himself there for the 2024 European Championship in the Swiss goal.

At Inter he inherits Cameroon keeper André Onana (27), who switched to Manchester United for 52 million euros.
