Unlike a year ago, FC Bayern doesn’t have to go to the Oktoberfest with a hangover. In a scoring frenzy, Harry Kane arrives at the premiere in his new leather trousers. He warns his colleagues.
After his hat-trick debut, the Bayern star can relax Harry Kane is really looking forward to his Oktoberfest debut.
“We’re enjoying this as a team,” said the 100 million man from the German football record champions after the 7-0 win against VfL Bochum as the perfect prelude to the Oktoberfest visit. “I don’t know exactly what to expect, but after the result today it will definitely be very relaxed.”
A year ago, the people of Munich toasted each other in the marquee with disgruntled faces after a 1-0 defeat at FC Augsburg. Now they could possibly even toast to the championship lead after the game day with the beer mug. At least after the shooting festival against Bochum they will come to the folk festival as frontrunners. “The leather pants are ready, we strap them on – and then close our eyes and go through,” said coach Thomas Tuchel, for whom it is also the premiere.
“Perfect Oktoberfest weekend,” enthused the new sports director Christoph Freund. “It will definitely be very nice, especially if you play a game like this the day before. That’s important for the camaraderie, for the team structure.”
Kane and the tight Haferlschuh
The Bayern stars come to the traditional Oktoberfest with their families in traditional costume. “I don’t know it yet, but the boys have told me a lot. It will be a new experience,” said Kane in advance. “It has a great tradition.” Everyone is excited to see the pictures of the new Bayern superstar in leather pants and Haferl shoes. “The shoes are really tight, I’ve never worn anything like that before. I still have to get used to them.”
The 30-year-old currently scores almost at will in football boots. Kane already has seven goals to his name after five games. The 100 million man improved a club record. After their first five games, Gerd Müller, Miroslav Klose and Mario Mandzukic held the record with five goals. In addition to Kane, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Matthijs de Ligt, Leroy Sané and once again top joker Mathys Tel also met for Munich on Saturday.
“This is of course a great start before we go to the Oktoberfest with the team,” said President Herbert Hainer. But you can’t enjoy it too much, warned Kane with a view to the cup task at Preußen Münster. “We have the next game on Tuesday.” But first we have to visit the Beetle festival tent. How well Kane can do that? “Let’s see. This is definitely a new experience for him,” said Freund.
