The picture that Julian Nagelsmann made available to the public over the weekend was undoubtedly real, but it bordered on fake news. Nagelsmann had left the player’s cabin early to put this picture into the world, he alone on the coach’s bench, accompanied only by his Ipad. Supposed title of this still life: Man, pondering. At least that’s how Nagelsmann is known, as a young coach who approaches the game from his academic side. Here, in the half-time break of the Bundesliga game against Bochum, he would probably come up with a tactic that would allow the Champions League game against Paris St. Germain to be contested on Tuesday.
