FC Bayern II – Demichelis back home – Sport

Martin Demichelis had been associated with his hometown club River Plate for a few weeks, now it is certain: According to SZ information, the former FC Bayern professional will give up his job as coach of the U23 in November and head coach of the traditional club in Buenos Aires . The 41-year-old started his professional career at River Plate in 1998 and moved to Germany in 2003. Demichelis will be on the sidelines for the last time at the Grünwalder Stadion next Friday when his regional league team host SpVgg Ansbach. It has not yet been finally clarified whether he will say goodbye to Munich before the derby against Türkgücü on November 19 or only afterwards. The first half of the fourth division under the sole head coach Demichelis, who was still working with Danny Schwarz, was disappointing. Bayern are sixth, 19 points behind Unterhaching.

Demichelis’ successor has also not yet been finally clarified. The most likely candidate is Holger Seitz, who led the team into the third division in 2018 and took over again on an interim basis in 2020; the 48-year-old is currently the sporting director on the FC Bayern campus. According to SZ information, some details still have to be clarified, especially since a successor for Seitz still has to be found. It is important to Bayern that the coaching position is filled on a long-term basis with immediate effect. If Demichelis says goodbye, the tenth change within the last ten years is imminent.
