FC Bayern defeated FC Barcelona 2-0 in the Champions League: Upamencano, Hernández and Sané shine.

Of the FC Bayern stays at least in the Champions League in the lane and defeats the Barcelona FC with 2:0. However, the Catalans proved to be a tough nut to crack and even dominated in the first half. After the change of sides, however, Lucas Hernández and Leroy Sané ensured Munich’s success with a double strike in the 50th and 54th minute. The grades of the FCB players.

1. Manuel Neuer

The national goalkeeper had to intervene for the first time in the ninth minute by parrying a Pedri shot with his foot. A little later, Neuer was challenged against Lewandowski and parried his header from close range. Neuer revealed problems in the passing game and almost scored a goal with a catastrophic pass to Lewandowski. The keeper also surprised in some other situations with some absurdly weak deductions.

Rating: 6/10

2.Benjamin Pavard

The Frenchman, who was so strong last time, had to leave after just 20 minutes due to injury. Previously, he only attracted attention with an unnecessary bad pass and otherwise hardly recorded any actions.

Rating: 4/10

3. Dayot Upamencano

From Bayern’s point of view, Dayot Upamecano was the rock in the surf and was always on the toes of Robert Lewandowski in particular. The Frenchman was extremely attentive and present and saved, for example, after a catastrophic Neuer pass against Lewandowski. In the direct duels there was no herb against Upamecano.

Rating: 9/10

4. Lucas Hernandez

Lucas Hernández, like his neighbor Upamecano, made sure that Munich were able to keep the zero despite a few mistakes by those in front. The central defender acted snappy and aggressive as usual. Only before the Lewandowski header chance in the first half did the 26-year-old let himself be pushed away too easily. Unusually, Hernández even shone as a goalscorer. His header was the can opener to victory.

Rating: 9/10

5.Alphonso Davies

The Canadian started the game extremely well and won practically every duel on his side. However, that doesn’t change the fact that the roadrunner was incredibly lucky that his foul on Dembélé in the penalty area wasn’t punished with a penalty. In the second half, Davies held back and was not particularly conspicuous on the offensive or on the defensive.

Rating: 7/10

6. Joshua Kimmich

Kimmich acted extremely snappy in the duels and also won a large part of them. On the other hand, the midfield leader made a noticeable number of bad passes in the first round, which could have been punished in one or the other scene. In the second half, Kimmich was able to turn off his bad passes, but did not always radiate the necessary presence in midfield. Strong, however, was his pinpoint corner kick in front of the Hernández goal.

Rating: 6/10

7. Marcel Sabitzer

By losing the ball, Marcel Sabitzer initiated Pedri’s first big Barca chance. In general, the Austrian had enormous problems getting into the game and was sometimes unlucky in passing and in the duel. However, the Austrian held his position in the headquarters well and thus closed important paths. After a good half hour, his shot from 20 meters just missed the goal. At half-time Sabitzer, who had received a yellow card, was replaced by Goretzka.

Rating: 4/10

8. Yamal Musiala

Musiala acted rather unlucky in the early stages, but was able to improve in the course of the first half. His cross after half an hour was particularly strong, but Müller and Mané unfortunately got in each other’s way. In the second period, the youngster shone with his pass to Leroy Sané, who scored to make it 2-0 after his slip-in pass. Musiala had no luck with his own degrees.

Rating: 7/10

9. Thomas Muller

For more than an hour it seemed as if someone had imposed a shooting ban on Thomas Müller. The space interpreter preferred to choose the pass or the cross in some good positions. However, he was not really successful with these actions. Only in the 68th minute did the birthday boy try to finish, but put the ball over the crossbar. Müller’s work against the ball is positive. The veteran ran tirelessly and even shortly before the end he pushed his team-mates to work against the ball.

Rating: 5/10

10. Leroy Sané

Sané only knew how to convince in the first round and often refused a possible conclusion. But this also had to do with the fact that he – for whatever reason – was used on the right side. However, he showed good body language and was often in action both offensively and defensively. After a strong sprint he finally rewarded himself with his goal to make it 2:0.

Rating: 8/10

11. Sadio Mane

The Senegalese has arrived in a small form crisis. Mané couldn’t assert himself in his dribbles and didn’t create any other chances to finish. The 30-year-old definitely made an effort, but nothing countable jumped out of his scenes. It is also problematic that Mané is currently not looking fast and lively at all. In this form, he is not a win for Munich.

Rating: 3/10

12. Leon Goretzka (from 46th)

Goretzka got into the game well and tested ter Stegen directly with a nice long-range shot. The international secured the corner that led to 1-0. The Munich eight showed a lot of dynamism going forward, which rarely fell victim to defensive stability.

Rating: 7/10

13. Noussair Mazraoui (from 21st)

The right-back had no problems at all and showed a great game. Mazraoui showed an excellent passing game and always found good solutions. He was also very convincing in the duels and won five out of six duels. His rescue operation against Lewandowski shortly before the break was particularly strong.

Rating: 8/10

14. Serge Gnabry (from 70th)

Gnabry only came 20 minutes before the end and thus at a time when Munich was more focused on defending. Accordingly, the player was also forgiven for not being able to set any accents. He could have saved himself one or the other pointless dribble.

Rating: 4/10

15. Mathys Tel (from 80.)

The Bayern youngster helped save the lead over time for ten minutes. He wasn’t particularly noticeable.

16. Ryan Gravenberch (from 80th)

Gravenberch also helped as a fresh force to keep Barcelona away from the goal. He remained inconspicuous.
