FC Bayern basketball players: helpless in the cauldron – sport

The FC Bayern basketball team lost 71:82 to Partizan Belgrade in the Euroleague – and not only showed too much respect for the Serbs’ defense, but also for the more than 3,000 opposing fans in the Audi Dome at home.

FC Bayern Munich basketball players actually play their home games in the Audi Dome, but what they experienced there in the Euroleague on Thursday evening was nothing more than an away game. More than half of the 6,500 spectators in the sold-out hall were fans of opponents Partizan Belgrade and they made a hell of a racket. The Partizan supporters, many of whom stood shirtless in the ranks, sang “Goodbye” in passable German at the beginning of the fourth quarter – by then at the latest it was clear that the Munich team would not have the slightest chance. They were behind with almost 20 points, in the end they lost the game 71:82 (33:39).

They only played the first quarter on an equal footing with Belgrade, after having overslept the start, impressed by the witches’ cauldron atmosphere. After that, they undershot while Partizan, led by Kevin Punter and ex-Munich player Mathias Lessort, continued to pull away. Bayern’s hopes of being able to make up for the big gap to the playoff ranks are further dwindling due to the defeat.
