Langhans is disoriented and suffers from an illness with cognitive impairments, according to the public investigation. Initial searches in the nursing home and in the area surrounding the facility were unsuccessful. The 83-year-old is “a deserving member of the FC Bayern referee department.”

Anton Langhans, known as “Toni”, was active as a referee in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 1970s and refereed a total of 28 games in the southern season between 1974 and 1980 in the then two-tier league. He made two appearances in the DFB Cup. On his 80th birthday three years ago, FC Bayern honored him with an article on the club’s homepage.

Now the association hopes to use its reach (almost seven million followers on X) to help ensure that the pensioner suffering from dementia is found safely and as quickly as possible. According to police, Langhans is 1.80 meters tall and slim, has gray hair and is partially bald. He was last seen wearing dark blue Adidas sports pants with red stripes on the side, a white T-shirt and gray slippers. The police in Munich or any other police station will accept information.
