FC Barcelona: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang names toughest opponent

The new Barca striker has already faced many well-known defenders. A Villa defender made it the hardest for him.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (32) has described English international Tyrone Mings (28) as his toughest opponent. The newcomer to FC Barcelona and ex-Borussia Dortmund striker chose the relevant question Mundo Deportivo Aston Villa centre-back after much deliberation.

A quite surprising choice, after all, Aubameyang has played against well-known defenders such as Virgil van Dijk (Liverpool FC) and Sergio Ramos (then Real Madrid) during his career. In the Bundesliga he faced Mats Hummels and Jerome Boateng (both former Bayern Munich players).

With Mings, who moved from Bournemouth to Birmingham in 2019 for around 22 million euros, the Gabonese duel in Arsenal FC dress five times. Aston Villa have won three of those games and have not conceded a goal. Arsenal won the other two games, Aubameyang netted in each case.

Aubameyang will no longer meet Mings in everyday league life. He has been a striker for FC Barcelona in LaLiga since January and opened his scoring account at the weekend in the Blaugrana dress.
