FC Barcelona: Club bosses ask Dani Alves about Ajax star Antony

Dani Alves knows Barca’s transfer candidate Antony very well. He gave his bosses input on the Ajax star.
FC Barcelona are considering signing Ajax Amsterdam attacker Antony. Barca defender Dani Alves has revealed club bosses have made inquiries about his compatriot and ex-team-mate.
The Brazilian portal UOL had reported a few weeks ago that Alves was pushing for Antony’s commitment. The 28-year-old now said accordingly ESPN: “I’m certainly not pushing for a transfer. But I’ve spoken to those responsible about him. If they ask me for my opinion, they’ll get my assessment of other players.”
Barca transfer? Antony is under contract at Ajax until 2025
Alves assessment of Antony was obviously positive. “I played with him, followed his development and saw the move to Ajax. He showed how great he can play,” said Alves. He knows Antony from their times together at FC Sao Paulo and in the Brazilian national team.
Antony is under contract with Ajax until 2025. In 2020, Amsterdam brought the 22-year-old from Brazil for almost 16 million euros. At that time, Borussia Dortmund was also interested in the dangerous winger.
After strong performances this season (22 points in 33 competitive games) Antony could leave Ajax this summer. In addition to Barcelona, FC Bayern is also considered interested.
