FC Barcelona has apparently put out feelers to Dani Olmo due to Sergio Agüero’s month-long absence.
FC Barcelona apparently wants to react to Sergio Agüero’s month-long failure by signing a Bundesliga player. Like several Spanish media outlets, including the AS, report, Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig is at the top of the Catalans’ wish lists.
The 23-year-old has long been considered a possible candidate for a return to his youth club, but Agüero’s heart problems and the uncertain future of the Argentine could make the issue acute from the point of view of the ailing top club.
Olmo still without accents this season
In 2007, when he was nine, Olmo moved to the La Masia youth department and stayed there for seven years before moving to Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. From there, Olmo moved to Leipzig in January 2020 for around 20 million euros. In the current season, Olmo only came to four competitive appearances due to an extended European Championship and Olympic vacation and a subsequent torn muscle fiber. His contract in Leipzig runs until 2024.
Agüero went down dazed after an aerial duel in the league game against Deportivo Alaves last weekend. After being replaced, the 33-year-old was taken straight to the hospital.
