Favre-Aus at OGC Nice only a matter of form – meeting with Pochettino

I think dismissing Favre was a very short-sighted decision by those responsible in Nice. Large parts of the squad were replaced in the summer. I think it goes without saying that this now requires some time until the team has got used to it again. I would have believed Favre to form and advance the rather young team. I doubt whether Pochettino can do this to the same extent.

Swapped might be a bit of a misnomer. Nice has signed a lot of players.
And when you get names like Pepe, Schmeichel, Ramsay, Drop, Laborde, etc., you expect better games.
Nice didn’t play that badly, up until then they were mostly the slightly better team, but some of them were extremely undisciplined and harmless in front of goal.
I was in the stadium against Clermont, they just kicked. It was more like lumberjacks than football.
In addition, some changes were completed head over heels and partly without meaning or dispatch.
In midfield there are names like Viera, Barkley, Lemina, Ramsey, Schneiderlin and Rosario. Plus Boudaoui and Beka Beka. That’s 8 midfielders, all of whom can kick.
Sometimes Favre didn’t want some players at all, but the owner put them in front of him.
At the PK in front of Cologne, I think he answered the question of whether Barkley was more of a 6er or an 8er that he didn’t know.
Could also have been gallows humor.
I don’t think Favre would have started the job if he had known what kind of circus was going on.
On the one hand the owner who simply happily signs players from England and on the other hand he who is trying to put together a team.
They worked mercilessly past each other.
And as it is, the trainer is fired if the Rubik’s Cube doesn’t work.

Since I still haven’t registered for ratings .. it stays with the +1
You say it, with many transfers it seemed as if he got players he didn’t want, and people who would have suited him (my own opinion) weren’t signed despite rumours.

Many of the games were also relatively tight, 4x 1:1, 4x 0:1 are 8 of the 12 games so far, and we know ourselves that it is always very difficult to form a team when you have players that you actually never have would play, no matter if they have quality or not. If they don’t fit into your system and tactics, it won’t help you in the end.

If we then consider bad luck from the match and bad luck from the referee (I think there were a few games), then as a coach you are once again the poorest pig.
What do you want to do if your IV flies off after 9 seconds? and that, despite VAR, the referee does not even check it himself? You can also play against Angers where nothing was going and lose.

It’s just an extreme shame for him because he and the fans certainly imagined something different, and you can’t really blame Favre much, but unfortunately he will always be the number one reason as a coach.
